The City’s Climate Change Youth Summit Celebrates Achievements by Students

The City of Mississauga is celebrating the achievements of students who have completed the City’s Climate Change Youth Challenge, Mission to Earth. The City will be hosting an online Youth Summit celebration on Thursday, May 6, 2021, during National Youth Week. The summit will include a keynote address from Kehkashan Basu, a Canadian youth and environmental and human rights activist as well as a special video message from Canadian Olympian, Hayley Wickenheiser. It will also include a careers panel, featuring four sustainability leaders who will explore various career paths in climate change action and environmental sustainability. The summit will wrap up with the announcement of first, second and third-place award recipients. Read More

National Youth Week encourages youth to get involved and make a difference within their community through music, film, the arts and culture. MiWay Services at 1400 Dixie Road

Service to 1400 Dixie Road was proposed as part of the streamlining of Route 5 Dixie to service Dixie Road from South Service Road to Lakeshore Road. Currently the route travels on Ogden Road to reach Lakeshore Road. The streamlining of Route 5 was proposed under the 2016-2020 MiWay 5 Transit Service Plan. Unfortunately, due to forthcoming construction at the Dixie Road/QEW Interchange as well as redevelopment of the Dixie Outlet Mall site that would impact our terminal, MiWay has delayed the proposed Route 5 changes until the completion of these projects. The timeline for completion of the Dixie Road interchange and Dixie Mall redevelopment is estimated to be 2024. Read More

Justice Luncheon – April 27th, 2021

The Justice Luncheon is a fundraising event we hold each year that features a keynote address by the Chief of Peel Regional Police about the successes and challenges of policing in Peel. This year, Chief Nishan Duraiappah made his Justice Luncheon debut.
