On September 6, MiWay is adjusting service on various routes to ensure that service is available where and when customers need it. MiWay continues to actively monitor all routes in the system so that service levels are responsive to customers’ needs and ridership demand. Travel patterns continue to evolve in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and recovery framework.

September 6 service changes are summarized below, including additional service to high schools and post-secondary schools, as in-person learning resumes. More details are available at miway.ca.

  • Adding more service to high demand areas
  • Weekday: Route 107 will be reinstated to Humber College as in-person learning resumes. Schedules will be revised to provide 20-minute service frequency all day
  • Saturday: More trips added in the early morning on Routes 1 and 7, and in the late evening on Route 66
  • Sunday: Earlier trips added for Route 7
  • High school routes resume
Regular school service will resume on nine 300-series high school routes. Additional trips will also resume on other local routes as in-person learning resumes
  • More passenger-carrying capacity on busy corridors

Due to an increase in customer demand, larger buses will be used to provide some trips to reduce the potential for overcrowding on Routes 1, 66 and 103

  • Service frequency reductions to match customer demand
Schedules will be adjusted on some routes and will continue to be monitored for changes in customer demand:
  • Weekday: Routes 6, 23, 45 and 109
  • Saturday: Routes 2 and 17
  • Route cancellations due to low customer demand
  • 68 Terry Fox: Sunday service will be cancelled. Customers can use alternate routes 38A, 39 or 61
  • 90 Terragar-Copenhagen Loop: Saturday service will be cancelled. Customers can use alternate routes 39, 42 or 44
  • Service changes due to road construction
  • Routes 57 Courtney Park and 61 Mavis: Route 57 (weekday service) and Route 61 (weekend service) will be revised due to the road closure caused by bridge construction on Old Derry Road over the Credit River
  • 4 Sherway Gardens: Eastbound (only) service on this route will be impacted due to construction on the QEW eastbound on-ramp

Other service adjustments:

  • 23 Lakeshore (from Sheridan Centre): will no longer service Sheridan Centre in the early morning on weekdays and Saturday. All eastbound trips will begin at Clarkson GO Station
  • Platform changes at Port Credit GO Station
Route 8 will now use Platform 6 at Port Credit GO station. Route 2 will use Platform 8
  • Holiday service

On Civic Holiday (September 6) and Thanksgiving (October 11), buses will operate on a holiday schedule. Some routes will not operate due to low customer demand

Customers are encouraged to use PRESTO as a contactless way to pay. With PRESTO, your transfer is active for two hours from when you first tap your card on the bus (and you don’t need a paper transfer).

Wearing a mask is still required under City by-law when riding MiWay and in all indoor public spaces, including inside transit terminal buildings.
