MiWay will be launching seasonal service changes starting December 20, 2021 until January 2, 2022 to ensure that service is aligned with customer demand during the holiday season.
MiWay will not offer free service on New Year’s Eve or additional, extended evening service, similar to other GTA transit systems. However, more than half of the MiWay routes scheduled on New Year’s Eve will be operating after midnight into January 1, 2022.
During the holidays, some routes will have reduced (less frequent) service and some routes will not operate due to low customer demand. For more information about MiWay’s seasonal service changes, visit miway.ca/holidayservice.
Starting January 3, 2022, MiWay will be revising some routes and schedules to strengthen transit network connections, and increase service frequency on routes where customer demand has grown.
- 57 Courtneypark (weekday): revised routing to service Sheridan College via Mavis Road to improve connections with Brampton Transit and respond to ridership growth in employment areas along Courtneypark Drive. Due to the routing change, this route will no longer service Meadowvale Town Centre, Meadowvale Blvd. or Old Derry Rd. Customers can take Route 42 Derry and transfer to Route 57 Courtneypark at Mavis Rd. and Derry Rd.
- 8 Cawthra (weekday): revised routing to resume service to the Mississauga Seniors Centre between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- More frequent service along some major roads: includes routes 39 Britannia (weekday), 42 Derry (Sunday) and 66 McLaughlin (weekday).
Wearing a face mask is still required under City by-law in all indoor public spaces, including when riding on MiWay and when inside transit terminal buildings. Children under the age of two and people with disabilities or other medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a face covering are not required to wear one.
Customers are encouraged to use PRESTO as a contactless way to pay. With PRESTO, your transfer is active for two hours from when you first tap your card on the bus (and you don’t need a paper transfer).
