Archives Awareness Week
April 12 – 16
The week is all about celebrating the PAMA Archives’ unique potential to inspire and excite people, bring communities together, tell memorable stories about the past and preserve the records of government and communities.
The Peel Archives, located at PAMA, is a tremendous asset in the Region of Peel. It is a place where researchers, teachers, students, planners and all Peel residents can visit and discover the history of the Region of Peel through preserved records dating back to 1805. Once PAMA re-opens to the public, time can be booked with one of our Archivists by calling 905-791-4055.
- Virtual Lunch and Learn: Caring for your family photos and records
Wednesday, April 7, 12 – 1 p.m.
To help lead us into Archives Awareness Week, Jim Leonard, PAMA’s Supervisor of Archives, will talk about how old paper, photographs and memorabilia deteriorate over time, plus many of the simple things you can do to slow it down.
Volunteer Appreciation Week
April 18 – 24
Although PAMA is still closed due to COVID-19, the Friends of PAMA Advisory Board continues to volunteer their time and work alongside staff in areas of programming and collections. Thank you to this amazing group of PAMA champions!
