April 22, 2021 — At today’s Region of Peel Council meeting, Councillor Stephen Dasko, put forward a motion for Council’s consideration that all the entire Region of Peel be considered a COVID-19 hotspot. Councillor Dasko was pleased that this was passed unanimously at Regional Council.
“We are asking that Peel, as a whole community, be considered a high risk community. We need consistency across the Region and are hopeful that the Ministry will grant that consideration” said Councillor Dasko.
That the Regional Chair write a letter to the Premier of Ontario and the Ontario Minister of Health, on behalf of Regional Council, requesting that the provincial government designate the entire Region of Peel as a COVID-19 hot spot.
From Saturday, May 1 to Thursday, September 30, fines for parking and stopping violations will increase to $100 on local roads, City parks and municipal parking lots south of Lakeshore Road, from the east city limits to Meadow Wood Rd. Parking violations occurring between 2 to 6 a.m. are exempt from the increased fines. Read More
