Residents in Peel are reminded that as of February 8, the additional 2-bag limit for excess garbage will end. Garbage tags will be required to dispose of excess garbage. Read More
The City of Mississauga’s 2019/2020 reconstruction program had 16 courts which required redevelopment. Due to the COVID19 Provincial Order under Ontario Regulation 82/20 construction was halted in March of 2020 until June 2020. Given the late start in 2020, the City was unable to deal with the entire program despite the contractors efforts to reschedule completion of all sites. As construction progressed through the year, the courts within the City were assessed for condition, safety and playability and seven courts in fair condition had to be delayed. Read More
The Interim tax billing for property owners on Pre-authorized Tax Payment plans (PTP) were mailed the in December. The Interim tax billing for property owners on the instalment plan is scheduled to be mailed on February 4 and 5. Read More

Council approval of the City of Mississauga’s 2021 Budget and 2021-2024 Business Plan will follow the Region of Peel’s budget approval. Regional Council discussions regarding operating and capital budgets begin on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Read More
City contracted crews (Miller Tree Service) will be working in the Ward, to remove Ash trees infested with Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Woodlots at the following Lakefront Promenade (P-323), A.E.Crookes (P-023), Small Arms Inspection Building (P-358) & Bruekner Rhododendron (P-156) . Crews will be practicing social distancing and appropriate signage will be posted. Read More
January 21, 2021 – The City of Mississauga had drafted the Lakeshore Connecting Communities Plan to improve and increase mobility across our Lakeshore corridor. This funding announcement for the Lakeshore corridor is for the construction of a New Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor along Lakeshore Road in Mississauga that includes three stations. The construction is for a dedicated two-way bus rapid transit corridor on Lakeshore Road East and Deta Road, as well as separated bike lanes and sidewalks. It will help support the growth outlined in the City’s Official Plan and Local Area Plan. The Bus Rapid Transit component from East Avenue to Deta Road was submitted for consideration to the Federal and Provincial Governments as a part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Plan (ICIP). At today’s Council meeting, Mississauga City Council discussed efforts in response to the impacts of COVID-19 and approved motions regarding a green and inclusive economic recovery, paid sick leave for workers and small business safe reopening.
