Notice Of Public Information Centre – Thursday, April 24th, 2025 – Applewood United Church – Ann Graham Community Hall

The Region of Peel (the Region) has initiated an Addendum to the 2022 Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the Wastewater Capacity Improvements in Central Mississauga which included the Queensway East Trunk Sewer (QET). The purpose of the Addendum is to review proposed watermain upgrades from Stillmeadow Road to Dixie Road in the City of Mississauga. The Addendum has identified a preliminary preferred solution that includes a new watermain along the Queensway (from Stillmeadow Road to Dixie Road) to align with the Region’s long-term plan for providing water service.

Public Information Centre Details:

An in-person Public Information Centre (PIC) is planned to present the following information:

  • Proposed changes to the 2022 MCEA, including the evaluation of watermain expansion alternatives
  • Updates to the detailed design and construction schedule for the modifications to the large watermain named Hanlan Feedermain 1 (HFM1 on map)

Process:
The Addendum to the 2022 MCEA is being conducted in accordance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, amended 2007, 2011, 2015) which was the approved process followed for the 2022 MCEA. Upon completion, the EA Addendum report will be made available for a minimum of 30-day review period. Public and agency consultation is a key element of the MCEA Addendum Study process and input will be sought throughout this study.
