As a valued partner of Trillium Health Partners (THP), I am writing to share some news. As of June 20, 2021, Michelle DiEmanuele will be taking a secondment from THP to the Government of Ontario as the Secretary of the Cabinet and Head of the Ontario Public Service. The appointment was made yesterday by Premier Doug Ford and I expect the appointment will not last longer than 14 months.
The province is at a critical time as they actively manage the ongoing pandemic while planning for recovery and economic prosperity for all Ontarians. As Head of the Ontario Public Service and its 60,000 employees, Michelle will play a key non-partisan role in the ongoing response and recovery, which are of critical importance to everyone in our community and across the entire province. Her unique breadth of experience in the public and private sector, along with her significant accomplishments as a leader in health care, are important foundations for this work, as well as her strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively across large organizational systems.
During Michelle’s leave THP’s Board of Trustees has appointed Karli Farrow, Chief Operating Officer and EVP Patient Care Services, to serve as President and CEO. Over more than 10 years at THP Karli has held multiple leadership roles and portfolios. Her operational, strategic and people leadership positions provide her with a deep understanding of the organization, our people and our future. Karli consistently demonstrates our values of compassion, excellence and courage and will no doubt carry them into this new role. Her appointment begins June 20th and the transition process is underway.
Sincerely,
Michele Darling,
Chair, Trillium Health Partners Board of Trustees
