Alectra Utilities will undertake an Overhead Pole Line Re-build Project along Alexandra Ave, Fourth St, and Meredith Ave
Alectra Utilities will be performing the following construction work:
- Upgrade the existing pole line along Alexandra Ave, Fourth St, and Meredith Ave
Alectra Utilities has received the necessary approvals and permits from the City of Mississauga to proceed with this work.
Alectra crews will be working primarily on Alexandra Ave, Fourth St, and Meredith Ave, and the following surrounding areas of Alexandra Ave and Fourth St, will be impacted minimally by construction activities.
This project will require a significant excavation along the Municipal Road Allowance to install the new underground and overhead electrical distribution equipment, including 20 Hydro poles at varying heights.
Tree trimming will be required to maintain safe clearance from the wires and will be kept to a minimum as allowed for safety and reliability requirements. Additionally, construction vehicles and equipment will be apparent, and while we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, we want to reassure the community that Alectra and our contractors adhere to best construction practices ensuring a safe work zone. Majority of construction will occur during the weekday typically between the hours of 7 AM to 4 PM.
Furthermore, the entrance to driveways fronting Alexandra Ave, Fourth St, and Meredith Ave may be impacted and every effort to coordinate safe vehicular passage during construction will be made.
Scheduled power interruptions may be required to safely complete our work and every attempt will be made to notify you in advance. If your power will be affected, you will receive notifications by phone or notice on your front door, therefore please ensure that your primary contact phone number attached to your Alectra Utilities account is current.
