The Lakeshore Transportation Studies include three infrastructure projects in the Lakeview, Port Credit and Clarkson communities that build from the 2019 Lakeshore Connecting Communities Transportation Master Plan. Each project requires a specific type of environmental review.

Lakeshore Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Study

The City of Mississauga is developing the preliminary design and completing the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP) for the Lakeshore Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT). The Lakeshore BRT is planned to run for two kilometres along Lakeshore Road from the Etobicoke Creek to East Avenue. This project has received funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) and will have an expedited timeline for development. Lakeshore Complete Street Study

The City is also developing the preliminary design and completing the Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for Lakeshore Road and Royal Windsor Drive. This study will consider a ‘Complete Street’ approach to improve the experience for people travelling along the Lakeshore corridor from East Avenue to the Oakville border.

New Credit River Active Transportation Bridge Study

The City is developing the preliminary design and completing the Schedule B Class EA for a new Active Transportation bridge over the Credit River north of Lakeshore Road. This bridge will enhance mobility across the river for people walking, rolling and cycling.

Public Engagement

Public and stakeholder consultation is an essential component of the Lakeshore Transportation Studies. Anyone with an interest in any of the three projects can get involved and provide input.

You have two ways to get involved:

1. Virtual community meeting

The City’s project team will provide an overview presentation and answer your questions.

  • When: September 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Online meeting via Webex
  • How: Register online – once you register, you will receive instructions on how to participate

The presentation will be made available on the website after the meeting.

2. Virtual open house

The virtual open house is available anytime and includes an overview of the study, background information and evaluation criteria.

  • When: September 2 – September 30, 24/7 on-demand
  • How: Visit the open house and provide feedback.

This is the first in a series of public engagement sessions that will take place throughout the process to present findings and receive public input. All public engagement is planned to take place virtually at this time but may be changed to in-person as Ontario’s public health and safety guidelines allow.
