The Region of Peel will be starting emergency watermain repairs on Monday, April 25 on Dixie Road north of Bloor Street. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dixie Road will be reduced to a single lane north and southbound. At all other times north and southbound Dixie Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction.
As a major north-south arterial road in Mississauga, the lane reductions will increase travel times. Motorists may wish to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
The repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, June 24. Average construction noise is expected. There will be no impact to drinking water for the community. Follow @peelpublicworks for information and updates.

Lakeshore Corridor Transportation Improvements
Lakeshore Transportation Studies
The Lakeshore Transportation Studies include three infrastructure projects in the Lakeview, Port Credit and Clarkson communities that build from the 2019 Lakeshore Connecting Communities Transportation Master Plan. Each project requires a specific type of environmental review.
1. New Credit River Active Transportation Bridge Study
The City is developing the preliminary design and completing the Schedule B Class EA for a new Active Transportation bridge over the Credit River north of Lakeshore Road. This bridge will enhance mobility across the river for people walking, rolling and cycling.

National Work Zone Awareness Week starts today through April 15 and highlights the importance of slowing down when driving through work zones to prevent injuries and collisions. Reducing vehicle speed can avoid collisions from happening, or can reduce the impact by giving people more time to react and stop.
As road maintenance and construction season is now underway across Peel, all road users should exercise extra caution when travelling through work zones to help protect on-site workers and keep everyone safe.
National Work Zone Awareness Week aims to help drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians understand that work zone safety is a shared responsibility. Read More
Major Transit Station Areas (MTSA) are mixed-use, transit-supportive neighbourhoods that provide easy access to local amenities, jobs, housing and recreation opportunities. MTSAs generally include lands within a 10-minute walk (500-800 metres) of a rapid transit station or stop. They are located primarily along existing or planned transit corridors (e.g. GO Train, Light Rail Transit, Bus Rapid Transit).
Why MTSAs are important
As Mississauga continues to grow, the Province of Ontario is directing this growth to areas that can support it. This includes MTSAs in Mississauga.
The City has been developing its own detailed MTSA policies to align with the Provincial and Regional requirements. These policies will address MTSA specific height requirements, land uses, minimum densities and other policies.
Learn more about how this affects Mississauga
The City is hosting an online information session on April 26, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. to present the proposed city-wide MTSA policies and how they will work with other related City projects.
