Spring is around the corner. With it comes the return of Mississauga Library’s ninth annual Seed Library program. Residents are invited to participate in online and in-person workshops and events from March onward throughout the gardening season. The workshops are free with registration and suitable for all ages.
In addition to being a rewarding experience for individuals and families to discover the joy of gardening, the program also aims to support local food systems, build seed-saving literacy and promote locally adapted plants. The City is reviewing the Dixie Outlet Mall site to help guide future redevelopment. The review will focus on the elements needed to create a complete community such as new roads, pedestrian connections, housing, parks, shopping and transit.
You are invited to a virtual community meeting on Tuesday, March 28, from 6 – 7:30pm to learn more and ask questions. After an overview presentation from City staff, you’ll have an opportunity to share your thoughts on priorities for the site and give input on:
- Urban design
- Transportation and connections
- Housing and other uses

OGDEN PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) Improvements from East of Cawthra Rd to West of Etobicoke Creek
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is undertaking improvements of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) from east of Cawthra Road to West of Etobicoke Creek. The project limits are in the City of Mississauga and Region of Peel. MTO has awarded the construction contract to AIMCO INFRASTRUCTURE. Construction commenced in May 2022 and will continue for five construction years, with an anticipated completion in July 2026. Part of the construction includes the replacement of the Ogden Avenue Pedestrian Bridge as indicated on the map below. Read More

Today, Council approved Growing Mississauga, the City’s comprehensive action plan for new housing.
The plan includes five goals and 23 actions designed to increase the supply of housing, streamline development and building approvals and improve affordability. The plan also details where private sector and government support is necessary to meet the accelerated pace of development. Read More
