Enhanced measures in Provincewide Shutdown in effect

By January 14, 2021Covid-19, Issues

This week, the Government of Ontario declared a second Provincial Emergency and will be issuing stay-at-home order and enhanced public health and workplace safety measures for all of Ontario. The combination of measures will come into effect between Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and Thursday, January 14, 2021.

The new measures encourage everyone to stay at home as much as possible except for essential purposes such as for food, health-care services including medication, exercise or work, where someone’s job cannot be done at home.

It is critical that everyone follows all measures to help control the spread of COVID-19 in our community:

  • Stay home as much as possible
  • Only have close contact with people in your household or essential supports
  • Wear a face covering when out for essentials
  • Only go out for essential trips to pick up groceries, access health care services, exercise or essential work

Residents are encouraged to report any non-compliance they witness to call 311.
