Emancipation Day Flag Raising Ceremony August 1, 2024

August 1st marks the day in 1834 when the Slavery Abolition Act came into effect across the British Empire, including Canada. The Black Caucus Alliance in partnership with the City of Mississauga, raised the Pan-African flag on August 1st at Mississauga City Hall in commemoration of this carriage.
