A Notice from Metrolinx:

Dear resident,

Construction of the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project is ramping up along Hurontario Street, so we wanted to take this opportunity to (re)introduce ourselves in advance of some work beginning in your community. Starting in April, you will begin to see construction crews mobilize on site at the end of Troy Street, between CN Railway and the Petro-Canada. You will see site trailers and offices, material storage and onsite parking. Work will begin with tree protection and installation of a fence to secure the area. If any trees need to be removed, they will be replaced according to City of Mississauga bylaws.

With 19 stops on its own dedicated lane, the 18 km Hurontario LRT will offer a fast, comfortable, environmentally friendly way to get around. Along with new infrastructure, this project also includes plans for new sidewalks and bike lanes in your community that will promote active transportation and more convenient connections.

We recognize that we are building transit in a residential area, and that you may have questions or need to get in touch as work progresses. Metrolinx has a dedicated community relations team in place to work with residents in Peel region through the construction and operation of this transformational transit project. If any work is required outside of daytime hours, we will communicate in advance and all efforts will be made to limit disruption. Please feel free to reach out any time at any of the numbers listed below. We are committed to keeping you informed. If you haven’t already, please consider signing up for our newsletter, here: Metrolinx.com/hurontariolrt for the latest updates.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we build new and better ways to move you around the region.
