City of Mississauga Update: Storm Clean-Up

Storm clean-up is still underway across most of Mississauga. The City has received more than 500 calls reporting damage to trees which continue to be responded to on a priority basis. Based on call volumes, storm clean-up will take several weeks.

The safety of residents and City crews remains a key priority and residents are asked to be mindful of their surroundings as damaged tree limbs can pose a safety hazard. The City is asking residents to conduct a visual check of their homes and surroundings and report any damage to city-owned trees or infrastructure to 311. Read More

Film Notice: Sphere Sort of 2 Inc

Please note that the above will be filming exterior scenes for a TV series “Sort Of” at 2337 Harcourt Crescent (Ward 1) on May 20th between the hours of 7:00am-12:00 midnight. Prep will be conducted on May 19th, 7:00am-7:00pm and wrap on May 21st, 7:00am-7:00pm.

A permit has been granted to allow parking on the following:

  • One side of Harcourt Crescent between Barlett Lane and (approx.) 2301 Harcourt Crescent
  • One side of Linby Street between Harcourt Crescent and Duchess Drive

Camera equipment on the roadway, boulevard and sidewalk has also been permitted on Harcourt Crescent as long as two-way traffic is maintained at all times and to allow maximum 3-minute traffic stoppages under the supervision of Peel Regional Police not between the hours of 7:00 – 9:00am and 4:00 – 6:00pm.

Affected residents at both locations have been informed of these activities via notification letter. A release form survey was sent to residents with less than 34% objecting in order to allow:

  • Afterhours vehicle movement (before 7am, or after 11pm)
  • Filming to exceed two (2) occurrences within the year on a residential block
  • Lighting and/or generators to be oriented toward neighbouring residences

Road Safety Week May 17th to May 23rd

As a member of the Road Safety Committee and as we embark on the festivities of the first long-weekend of the summer, the Victoria Day Holiday, Peel Regional Police will be recognizing Road Safety Week starting on Tuesday, May 17th to Monday, May 23rd.

Road Safety is a high priority for PRP and part of our Regional Community and Safety Wellbeing Plan. We launched our annual Project Erase and Project Noisemaker on May 1st. During the warmer weather months, ERASE will target street racing activities in Peel Region and Noisemaker will address motor vehicles with modified and/or excessively loud exhaust systems on the roads.
