Temporary Night Closure of South Service Road from Dixie Road On-Ramp to Liveoak Drive

Detour Route
What work is taking place? Construction crews will be working on the installation of proposed Dixie Bridge girders along South Service Road from Dixie Road On-Ramp to Liveoak Drive during nighttime from May 9-11, 2023. This work requires the temporary closure of South Service Road from Dixie Road On-Ramp to Liveoak Drive. During the time of closure access to 1617, 1623, 1583 Cormack Crescent and 1422 South Service Road will be maintained. Please look for advisory signs announcing closures and detours on the roadway.
Emergency access will always be maintained.
TIMING • Construction will be from May 09, 2023, to May 11, 2023 • The work hours are 10:00 pm to 6:00 am daily.• Work could be rescheduled and delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. • In the unlikely scenario where the work requires an extended closure, the entrance will be temporarily re-opened after work hours.
TRAFFIC DETAILS • Access to the property will be maintained through South Service Road and Liveoak. • Watch for slow moving vehicles entering and exiting work areas. • Remember to reduce your speed when approaching lane reductions.
WHAT TO EXPECT? • Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions. • Residents and businesses near the work site can expect to hear noise and vibration caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work.
TRANSIT DETAILS • MiWay will continue to operate with regular service. • Watch for additional signs directing passengers at bus stops as boarding areas may be relocated. • A temporary pedestrian pathway will be provided to access the boarding areas. • Visit www.miway.ca/updates for updates on your bus route.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS • Please take care when travelling near construction areas. • Sidewalk access in the area could be affected. • Watch for additional signs directing pedestrians as detours may be required. • Clear and defined walking paths will be maintained during construction to ensure pedestrian safety.

UPDATE: Overnight and Weekend Work on the Lakeshore West Rail Corridor at Port Credit GO Station

May 2023 to July 2023 between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m

What work is taking place?

Construction crews will continue overnight activities within the railway corridor at Port Credit GO Station near Hurontario Street. These activities are expected to continue from May 2023 to July 2023 and will allow for grouting and excavation activities to continue while the underpass structure, also known as the Push Box, is pushed into place with minimal disruption to train movements overhead. Once in place, the underpass will allow for light rail vehicles to enter and exit Port Credit GO Station.
In order to complete the work safely and efficiently, crews will be onsite between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weeknights when train movements are at a minimum. Some work may also be required on a few nights on the weekends.
We understand that we are building this transformational transit project in a residential area and that overnight work is not ideal. We appreciate your patience and will complete this work as efficiently as possible to get things back to normal for you. We have a dedicated community relations team in place to work with residents and businesses in Peel Region through the construction and operation of this transformational project.

TIMING

• This work is localized in the southeast portion of the Port Credit parking lot, directly adjacent to the railway corridor. • Traffic delays are expected where lane reductions already exist for utility and roadwork activities on Hurontario Street. There are no additional traffic impacts related to this work. • Watch for slow moving vehicles entering and exiting work areas. • Remember to reduce your speed when approaching lane reductions.

Road Closure at Harborn Road and Hurontario Street

What work is taking place?
Construction crews will be installing new watermain and stormwater pipes along Hurontario Street and Harborn Road, resulting in a temporary closure of a portion of Harborn Road. This closure is scheduled to begin May 5, 2023 at 7p.m to May 8, 2023 at 6a.m. Works are scheduled to take place 24 hours a day to ensure work can be completed safely and efficiently. Emergency access will be maintained.
In accordance with City of Mississauga Noise By-Law Exemption requirements, this notice is meant to advise that residents near the work site can expect to hear noise and vibration caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work.
Please note, work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If you require the most up-to-date information, please reach out to peel@metrolinx.com and our team will provide you with e-updates of this work.

If this interruption may affect an alarm or maintenance company, it is your responsibility to notify them.  During the time that the water supply is interrupted, the building’s sprinkler protection system will not function.  A fire watch should be performed as necessary during time period.

After the water interruption:

When we turn the water back on, air in the pipes may make the water cloudy and your plumbing may vibrate or make noise.  We recommend removing the air by slowly turning on your taps from the lowest to the highest faucet in the building (that is, starting in the basement/first floor and finishing on the top floor). Flush the toilets as well. You will likely need to run the water for 10 to 30 seconds.  Run the water until it is clear, and any vibration or noise has stopped.

Important note:  After the water is turned back on, we recommend checking your water meter (usually located in the basement).  If it is leaking, call Water Meter Installations Dispatch at:

The Region of Peel Public Works department regularly maintains and repairs the water system to make sure you
have a consistent supply of quality drinking water. Sometimes we must turn off your water supply while we do
this work.
Your water will be turned off on Wednesday May 3rd, 2023, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. If we need to
reschedule this work due to weather or other circumstances, we will let you know the new date and time.
Property owner/manager responsibilities during a water interruption
As a property owner/manager, it is your responsibility to:
• Ensure maintenance, mechanical or plumbing staff are on site during the water interruption, as it may
affect internal systems that rely on water such as boilers, fire suppression, and alarms.
• Notify the fire alarm company if the interruption could affect an alarm system.
• Have a fire watch completed during the water interruption, as the building’s sprinkler protection system
will not function when the water supply is shut off.
After the water interruption
