Ramping up preparations for COVID-19 vaccine roll-out

Together with our partners, we’re aiming to vaccinate at least of 75% of Peel’s population as quickly and safely as possible, with the most vulnerable populations given priority.

Together with health system and community partners, the Region continues to roll out COVID-19 vaccination plans in Peel. The Community Mass Vaccination Plan that details how the Region and community partners are working together to vaccinate residents was submitted to the province on Jan. 31, 2021, and shared at Regional Council today. Dixie Road/CNR Structure Project

We are pleased to announce the Rehabilitation of Dixie Road & CNR Structure at CNR bridge (north of Lakeshore):

  • Stage 1: East side rehabilitation of Dixie Road will start this spring 2021 through to late summer 2021. This work will include the sidewalk, repair of the underground water drainage, temporary asphalt pavement and line markings.
  • Following stage 1, Alectra Utilities will relocate the existing aerial wires on the west right-of-way into new underground ducts, under the west side of the roadway.  This is tentatively scheduled for completion by early fall 2021.
  • Stage 2: West side rehabilitation of Dixie Road starts in the fall 2021 through to summer 2022. This work will include the sidewalk, and final asphalt pavement on both sides of Dixie Road with permanent line markings.

Hazel McCallion Honoured by City of Mississauga with 100th Birthday Celebration and Library Renaming

Today at General Committee, Mayor Bonnie Crombie and Members of Council paid tribute to the City’s remarkable former Mayor, Hazel McCallion, just days ahead of her 100th birthday on February 14. This centennial celebration of McCallion, and her legacy as Mississauga’s longest-serving Mayor, also included video greetings from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other notable public figures.
