From May 23 to 30, Tourism Mississauga and the City of Mississauga are recognizing Tourism Week. The City joins the Tourism Industry Association of Canada in recognizing the resilience and importance of the tourism industry through this unprecedented time and encouraging Mississauga residents to support local tourism businesses across the city and take the 2021 Tourism Pledge to Travel in Canada when restrictions are lifted. City of Mississauga Offers Summer Camps for Children to Get Active Outside

The City of Mississauga is planning to offer a variety of summer day camp programs that include: Summer Fun Camp (4.5 to 12 years old), Outdoor Explorers Camp (8 to 10 years old) and Outdoor Leadership Camp (10 to 12 years old). The City is opening up registration for these summer camps on Tuesday, May 25 at 6 a.m. to Mississauga residents and June 1 to non-residents. Registration for the camps is required and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents can register directly at ActiveMississauga.ca and if programs are full, the waitlist option can be selected. Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the City of Brampton and Mississauga for Friday, May 21, 2021.

A Special Weather Statement is issued by the Storm Prediction Centre at Environment and Climate Change Canada with the first forecast of a heat event when conditions do not meet heat warning criteria, but could pose health risks, particularly to those vulnerable to the heat who are not yet acclimatized to the warmer weather.
