Filming Production Update

Please note that the above (“Flint Strong”) has been permitted to park support vehicles and crew at Lakefront Promenade Park (800 Lakefront Promenade, Ward 1) from March 17, 7:00am – March 27, 7:00am. An exemption has been granted to allow overnight parking.

Filming exterior scenes for a feature film “Flint Strong” at the Small Arms Inspection Building (1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Ward 1) from March 3 – April 1 including prep & wrap. Times vary per day.

Please note that  filming interior scenes for a commercial “Rogers” at 271 Donnelly Drive (Ward 1) on Tuesday, March 3rd from 7:00am-11:00pm will be taking place .

A permit has been issued to allow parking on:

  • One side of Donnelly Drive from Gill Avenue to Glenburnie Road
    • PDO onsite at all times due to narrow roadway
  • One side of Glenburnie Road from Donnelly Drive to Donnelly Drive

Affected residents have been informed of these activities via notification letter.

Please note that the above will be filming interior scenes for a Commercial “Nature’s Heart” at 1217 Mona Rd (Ward 1) on February 26th, 7:00am-11:00pm.

A permit has been issued to allow parking on the following:

  • One side of Mona Rd between Inglewood Dr and Sandham Rd

Affected residents/businesses have been informed of these activities via a notification letter.

MiWay Service Update

More MiWay Service Changes Underway to Improve Customer Experience

February 24, 2020

On March 2, some MiWay routes will have revised weekday schedules to enhance service reliability for customers. These changes continue to provide customers with better connections to transit hubs across Mississauga and will enhance the customer service experience as part of the MiWay Five Transit Service Plan (2016-2020).

 

Service changes include:

  • Route 19 Hurontario: in addition, late night trips on Route 19 Hurontario will be extended from Britannia Road to the Highway 407 Park and Ride.
  • Enhanced service reliability: several local and express routes will have revised weekday schedules.

   City of Mississauga Offers School Closure Day Camps

The City is offering full-day camp programming at select locations on Friday, February 21 in response to the announcement of elementary school closures.

Camps will be offered at Erindale Community Hall, Burnhamthorpe Community Centre, Frank McKechnie Community Centre, Mississauga Valley Community Centre and Meadowvale Village Hall. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that the above will be filming interior and exterior scenes for a commercial “Tim Hortons” at 269 Windy Oaks (Ward 1) on January 27 – 29, from 7:00am – 11:00pm each day including prep and wrap.

A permit has been issued to allow parking on the following on January 27 – 28:

  • One side of Windy Oaks between Broadmoor Ave and Minnewaska Trail
  • One side of Broadmoor Ave between Windy Oaks and Mineola Rd E
  • Overnight parking has not been requested or approved

Noise By-Law Review Community Consultation Session – Everyone Welcomed

This is your personal invitation to attend a consultation session I’m hosting along with the Transportation and Works Department of the City of Mississauga on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Clarke Hall, 161 Lakeshore Road West.

This will provide you an opportunity to participate in the open discussions; hearing from the Representatives from Compliance and Licensing Enforcement.  A facilitated world cafe discussion will following with the assistance of the Facilitator,  Ms. Karyn Stock-MacDonald.  We will also hear from myself and Sam Rogers, the Director of Enforcement.
