By Hurontario LRT, Ward 1

What work is taking place?

Starting August 18, 2023, at 10 p.m., crews will work around the clock over the weekend to relocate the eastbound on-ramp at the QEW highway and Hurontario Street. Once complete, there will be enough space for the construction of the LRT guideway along Hurontario Street that is expected to take place next year. This work will be continuous and is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. on August 21, 2023, at which point the relocated eastbound on-ramp at the QEW and Hurontario Street will be reopened for motorists.

A detour route to access the eastbound QEW will be available via The Queensway East to Cawthra Road. The eastbound on-ramp at Hurontario Street will be temporarily inaccessible to all motorists, including emergency service vehicles, during the closure. All vehicles are encouraged to use the assigned detour route as depicted in the map above.
