CALL FOR ARTISTS: Public Art Mural

The Port Credit BIA is pleased to partner with the Mississauga Arts Council and announce a call for artists to participate in a Public Art Mural. This is open to professional artist(s), Artist-led teams with a connection to Mississauga.
5 artists will be selected for 5 unique panels to design Public Art Murals on Port Credit as an Urban Village. Vibrant abstract, contemporary murals that capture 5 different themes “Farmer’s Market, Musical Instruments, Canada Proud, Artist in Studio, Future in Abstract” will be created and printed on vinyl for installation.

Artists are to include elements of past, current, and future events that take place in Port Credit, with a focus on events that are held in the Elmwood Parking lot space. The lot currently has a beautiful blank canvas located on the East Side of our village. We encourage using abstract, modern, fresh, contemporary, elements that bring the uniqueness of our Urban Village to life. A reference to Graffiti Alley in Toronto is to be considered when designing the concept.

Panel parameter for each artist includes 168” H x 199” W. | 218.50 sq. ft. Each commissioned artist will receive $2,500 + HST.
