Emerald Ash Borer Tree Woodlot Removals

Funding for the Lakeshore Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)

January 21, 2021 – The City of Mississauga had drafted the Lakeshore Connecting Communities Plan to improve and increase mobility across our Lakeshore corridor. This funding announcement for the Lakeshore corridor is for the construction of a New Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor along Lakeshore Road in Mississauga that includes three stations.  The construction is for a dedicated two-way bus rapid transit corridor on Lakeshore Road East and Deta Road, as well as separated bike lanes and sidewalks. It will help support the growth outlined in the City’s Official Plan and Local Area Plan.  The Bus Rapid Transit component from East Avenue to Deta Road was submitted for consideration to the Federal and Provincial Governments as a part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Plan (ICIP). COUNCILLOR DASKO’S MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

January 20, 2021 — At today’s City of Mississauga Council meeting, Councillor Stephen Dasko, Ward 1, put forward a motion for Council’s consideration to suspend the surcharge  for funeral homes for weekend and statutory holidays during the COVID pandemic.  Councillor Dasko was pleased that this was passed unanimously at Council. “In these challenging times, this is the least we can do, under our jurisdiction, to help businesses and our community as compassionately as possible” said Councillor Dasko.
