Applewood Creek Erosion Control Project at Lakeview Golf Course

By Events, Issues, Resources, Ward 1

Construction Work: On or after November 8, 2021 to July 15, 2022

Scope of Work

The City of Mississauga is performing stream restoration, erosion protection and golf course restoration along Applewood Creek within the Lakeview Golf Course. The golf course is on the west side of Dixie Road, north of Lakeshore Road East.

The realignment of the creek into a more sinuous (winding) form, stabilization of the channel bed, restoration of golf course irrigation lines, installation of bridge crossings, repair of asphalt cart paths and landscaping will also be completed as part of this project.

The project work will enhance public safety in the area, as well as protect property and City infrastructure from the hazards of erosion.

After project work is complete, the environmental health of the creek and fish habitat will improve. The golf course layout and player experience will also be enhanced, while still maintaining its heritage characteristics.
