Construction Notice – Temporary Road Closure – Mineola Road West – 24 hour works

MINEOLA ROAD WEST AT HURONTARIO STREET

HuLRT UTILITY INSTALLATION

 

The contractor is installing underground utilities at Hurontario Street and Mineola Road West.  Due to the underground conditions, the duration of the temporary closure must be further extended.  During the closure, no vehicles (including Emergency Services) will be able to access Mineola Road West from Hurontario Street. The signed detour uses Indian Valley Trail and Glenburnie Road to access Mineola Road West.

Variable Message Signs have been updated to advise motorists of the extended closure of Mineola Road West.

  • From now through to Saturday August 20th at 10:00 pm the constructor will continue to work 24 hours a day.

Temporary Closure of Pinewood Trail at Hurontario Street – August 16th to 20th – LRT Construction

In preparation for the construction of the Hurontario LRT, the constructor must close Pinewood Trail just east of Hurontario Street to install an electrical duct bank.

During the closure, no vehicles (including Emergency Services) will be able to access Pinewood Trail from Hurontario Street.  A signed detour will be erected that uses Mineola Road East and Goldthorpe Road to access Pinewood Trail.

Variable Message Signs will been installed to advise motorists of the planned closure and a copy of the notification letter that was hand delivered to residents in the area is attached.

The road closure will take place:

  • Tuesday August 16th, 2022 at 7 am through to Saturday August 20th at 5:00 pm.  Work will be occurring 24 hours a day.

What work is taking place?

Construction crews will be installing utilities along Hurontario Street that will also need to cross Pinewood Trail. This will result in a temporary closure of a portion Pinewood Trail from 7 a.m on August 16 to 5 p.m. on August 20, 2022. The road closure and construction will be continuous throughout this duration.
In accordance with City of Mississauga Noise By-Law Exemption requirements, this notice is meant to advise that residents near the work site can expect to hear noise and vibration caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work. Some of this work will be done overnight and, on the weekend, so crews will be able to complete this work safely and efficiently.
During this closure, motorists can access Pinewood Trail from Hurontario Street using the detour map provided. Please note, work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If you require the most up-to-date information, please reach out to peel@metrolinx.com.

TIMING

 Pinewood Trail will be closed from: o 7 a.m. August 16 to 5 p.m. August 20, 2022 o The road closure and construction work will be continuous throughout this duration

 Work could be rescheduled and delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

 Access to Pinewood Trail will be maintained through a detour from Hurontario Street, Mineola Road East and Goldthorpe Road.

 Watch for slow moving vehicles entering and exiting work areas.

 Remember to reduce your speed when approaching work zones.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

 Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions.

 Residents and businesses near the work site can expect to hear noise and vibration caused by trucks, excavators, loaders, triaxles, backhoes, and other construction equipment related to this work.

 

TRANSIT DETAILS

 MiWay near the intersection will continue to operate with regular service.

 Watch for additional signs directing passengers at bus stop as boarding areas may be relocated.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

 Please take care when travelling near construction areas.

 Watch for additional signs directing pedestrians as detours may be required.

 Clear and defined walking paths will be maintained during construction to ensure pedestrian safety
