Lakeview Village announces the first two artists for its Artists in Residence program at the Discovery Centre. Artists the Broadbent Sisters and Soyeon Kim have been selected, gaining inspiration from and immersing themselves within the natural environment to explore a project connected to their practice.
Broadbent Sisters will create a guided meditation, collaborative painting and performance taking inspiration from the calming and mystical elements of water and our landscapes. Soyeon Kim will produce a collaborative mural and diorama art celebrating the connection of Serson Creek to Lake Ontario, welcoming the migratory birds and flourishing wildlife.
These resident artists will celebrate nature and the revitalization of our waterfront, and both the Broadbent Sisters and Soyeon will be exhibiting their work to the community through a series of workshops and demonstrations at the Discovery Centre. These are collaborative artist workshops that the community will be able to engage with and participate in. The workshops will be located in the Gallery at the Discovery Centre; two workshops will be held virtually (online). You can register here – limited space available.
